A Low Impact Woodland Home

The house was built with maximum regard for the environment. It was dug into hillside for low visual impact and shelter. Stone and mud from the diggings were used for retaining the walls, foundations etc. The frame was made from oak thinnings (spare wood) from surrounding woodland.

Rotating home always sees the sunny side

Inventor Cees Tadema has designed a floating house which rotates such that it faces the sun during the whole day. It is being built and is expected to be finished by december this year. Read the reports on NU.nl and in the Leeuwarder Courant.
